LWML
The Lutheran Women in Mission group is an official auxiliary of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.
Mission Statement
As Lutheran Women in Mission, we joyfully proclaim Christ, support missions, and equip women to honor God by serving others.
Vision Statement
The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.
Our Motto : "Serve the LORD with gladness" (Psalm 100:2)
The women of Bethlehem’s LWML group seek to serve the Lord with gladness through Christian service in their homes, their church, their community, and around the world. They do this through mission projects, church activities, and community functions.

The LWML group meets on the second Thursday of every month at 5:45 pm in the church basement. Members gather for a light supper, Bible study, Mite devotion and collection, singing/praying, and business meeting.
Each LWML meeting and during various events throughout the year, a Mite Offering is collected. 25% of those contributions are sent to the National LWML missions and the remaining 75% fund the missions for the LWML MN South District. The money put in their mite boxes are blessed by God and have a big impact on the spread of the Gospel all around the world and mission support.
The LWML National Convention took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in June 2023. In addition to the Mite offerings, the LWML was also able to support nine organizations through their mission funds. These nine included providing aid to international students at Concordia Seminary, covering high school tuition for ten students in New Orleans, supporting the construction of a chapel at Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch, helping to purchase two vans to help transport students with special needs in Milwaukee, supporting programs to help keep young people connected to the church, funding towards the Orphan Grain Train Servant Center in Norfolk, funding for Camp Dixie in Alabama, supporting organizations to form and recruit full-time church workers, and helping young girls who have experienced abuse and neglect participate in a Spiritual Care Program.
Bethlehem LWML sponsors an annual Fall Bazaar each year on the last Saturday of September. 50% of their proceeds are sent to various missions and organizations. Last year, proceeds were sent to:
1. Our Daily Bread
2. Christ Serve Ranch/Camp
3. Camp Omega
4. Lutheran Hour
5. Orphan Grain Train
6. Lutheran Bible Translators
7. Annandale Food Shelf
8. T.I.M (Pastor St. Onge)
9. LCMS Joint Seminary Fund
10. Mayor Lutheran HS
11. Phil’s Friends
12. Lutheran Heritage Foundation
Monetary donations are made to families in the congregation who have experienced loss of close friends and family members. They also gift Shut-In Baskets to their congregation’s homebound members during the Christmas season.
Throughout the year, Bethlehem's LWML focuses on the children of the congregation. They supply Lent, Easter, and Advent calendars for Sunday School families. They also gift Bibles to the 3rd grade students and recently started the tradition of gifting youngest members in preschool and kindergarten their very own Bible story books. They also help to support VBS each summer through a monetary donation towards snacks and treats for children and volunteers.
Bethlehem's LWML members also help out by hosting different events throughout the year including Pastor’s Conference Meetings, Circuit Rallies, and an annual Prayer Service. In April last year, they hosted a Spring Rally and invited Rev. Wayne Bernau as a guest speak and discussed “Strong Marriages and Solid Christian Families."
A huge thank you is extended to congregation members for their generous donations as they have provided many items and funding to help Bethlehem's LWML mission work.
They invite all women, young and old, to come and visit and join them!
